📌 Police Updates – Barrow upon Soar & Sileby (January 2026)

1. Recent Policing Activity

Increased Patrols Across Both Villages

Charnwood Police have confirmed that officers have been carrying out late‑shift patrols in areas affected by recent burglaries and thefts from motor vehicles across Sileby and Barrow upon Soar. Residents are being encouraged to review home and vehicle security and report any suspicious behaviour immediately via 999.

2. Crime & Safety Insights

Barrow upon Soar

No recent major incidents reported this month through official channels.

Traffic congestion and travel disruptions in nearby areas were monitored recently, but no direct policing alerts for Barrow were issued.

Sileby

Sileby continues to experience a moderate crime rate compared to surrounding areas

Deliberate fires have recently been reported in Sileby Memorial Park, with Fire & Rescue urging families to speak to young people about the risks and consequences.

PCSO 6031 Charlie has completed a joint patch walk with LFRS in regards to multiple deliberate fires being set by youths in Sileby Memorial Park.

3. Roadworks & Local Disruptions Affecting Policing / Access

Barrow upon Soar

Mill Lane closure, 12 January 2026 for four days, to allow carriageway patching works.

Sileby

High Street parking restrictions from 19 January 2026 (3 days) due to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order.

Upcoming Ratcliffe Road TTRO begins 27 January 2026.

These closures may temporarily alter patrol routes or response times.

4. Community Engagement & Beat Surgeries

While the latest published beat surgery dates are from 2026, the beat team has stated they plan to expand street consultations and engagement opportunities, which will be advertised soon via Neighbourhood Link and the Charnwood Police social media channels.
